EMERGENCY/ URGENCY
    BACK-UP PLAN

    We’re sitting here waiting for the world to destroy itself.  There is
    no emergency plan telling us what to do when and if a disaster
    takes place.  What if war breaks out?   What if there is a terrorist
    attack?  What if an accidental or inadvertent event accelerates
    hate and mistrust (like the taking of 20 British soldiers by Iran)?  
    We are at the mercy of the powers that be.  The peace movement
    will be reactive, like it always is.  There is no proactive plan.  The
    peace movement will fail.  Gael Murphy, of CODEPINK, said to me
    at the Boston Social Forum, there is no one dying next to us.

    The world can’t wait and be reactive.  It must be prepared, know
    what to do when the time comes and have practiced nonviolence
    tactics before they are needed!  

    A Call to Women is both an offensive and a defensive plan.  It is an
    emergency plan telling us what to do when and if a disaster takes
    place.   It is the “practice” of nonviolence tactics before they are
    needed in crucial times!  As the police have, the fire department
    has, and the military has, the peace movement can be ready to
    answer the question, what do we do if?   

    A “Call to Women” plans events three years in advance.  It is designed as a guideline for
    women leaders to utilize, as described in the attached draft of a Gandhi/King flier.

    A Call to Women is both an offensive and a defensive plan.

    Conflict Resolution Tactics and Techniques
    If there is no heed to the demands, there may be a need for:

                    Protests
                    Strikes
                    Civil Disobedience
                    Fasting
                    Boycotts

    As a method of Preventing Future War,
    Or In the event of a war or a terrorist act,
    We, as a peace movement, do hereby state that as a method of
    stopping the war, want to demonstrate our position by conducting
    a “Sit Down Strike” until aggression is ceased.
